“No Makeup” Makeup Look

Hey Fashionistas,

Now….generally, I would have filmed this look but I’ve been super busy and haven’t had a chance to really film…soo I’m going to stick to the classic blogging and writing to show you the products I love to use to create my recent “No Makeup” Makeup Look.

Summers here in NYC can get pretty hot but more importantly, it can get very very humid here. Wearing a full face of makeup on a humid day will literally start to irritate me and I can just feel my makeup melt off. On top of that, I can just feel my pores screaming at me.

So during the summer, I turn to my “No Makeup” Makeup look. It literally consist of 7 products: primer, BB cream, concealer, highlight, blush, and setting spray.

I start with my favorite Porefessional primer by Benefit and with my fingers, I gently layer it over my cheeks, nose, and forehead (where I have the most pores).

With my NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in shade Creme Brûlée, I spot-treat the redness and blemishes on my cheeks and chin. Using my Real Techniques Buffing Brush, I press and blend it into my skin. Usually, I would use my Real Techniques Sponge and blend that in, but I’ve been really into using my brushes this month.

Taking my Clinique BB Acne Solution cream, I put a few drops onto the same Real Technique Buffing Brush and slowly buff that all over my face. Because I’ve already put on some concealer, I don’t want to move the product as I’m buffing it into my skin. So the technique that I use is gently with a slight pressure, press the BB cream into my skin. Because the brush is dense enough, it does a beautiful job at blending (almost as well as my Real Techniques Complexion Sponge!) Now you’re probably wondering, why did I put concealer before I put on the BB Cream? I’ve noticed that putting on concealer under your foundation gives it a more natural glow look. When I do my full face glam, I will use the concealer under my eyes to set it up for an intense highlight and glowy look.

Once my base is on, I take my Urban Decay De-Slick Setting Spray and spray that all over my face to set it. This part is key since I am not using setting powder, I need to make sure that my makeup does not come off in the middle of the day.

As I’m waiting for my face to dry and set, I pick up my Benefit Gimme Brow Gel and quickly do my brows. I love this product because it’s just a spoolie with gel and you can easily just comb over your brows giving it a natural and simple look.

When my face is dry, I’ll pick up my Elf Baked Highlight in Moonlight Pearl and Elf Highlighter brush. I’ll swipe that across my cheekbones and bring that to my temples, creating a “C” swiping movement. **Tip: To make the highlight pop out more, spray your brush with setting spray before dipping into highlight

Next, taking my Real Techniques Blush Brush and dipping it into my Tarte Amazonian Clay 12- Hour Blush in Paaarty, I’ll gently swipe that over my cheekbones and over the highlight to give me natural rosy glowy cheeks.

And last but not least, I set everything with final spritz of my Urban Decay setting spray.

Xoxo,

Chrissie Carly,

  1. Didn’t even know Clinique had a BB cream! Do you like this product? Is it lightweight?

    • It’s amazing and super lightweight. I use it almost every day since it also has SPF. It hasn’t broken me out ever and I have very sensitive skin. It’s like super super sheer coverage. I just use it to even out my skin tone. It does have alcohol in it, so you want to make sure you moisturize and prime your skin before you put it on.

It took me forever to find the product at Sephora because it’s not in their makeup section. You have to go to their face cleanser section.
